Tailoring captions and media by channel

Write channel-specific captions and crop shared media for the formats each social network expects.

Write a post once, then tailor it for any selected channel. This lets you use a longer LinkedIn caption, a shorter X caption, or different hashtag placement where appropriate.

Captions and first comments

First Comment scheduling is available on Starter, Growth and Scale for Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn. TikTok and Pinterest do not support it in Flockly. You can move hashtags out of a caption and into the first comment on a supported network.

Links behave differently by network. Facebook and LinkedIn can use a clickable tracked product link in the first comment. Instagram displays comment links as plain text, so use Shop Grid when you need a one-tap product destination. X first comments support text and hashtags, but Flockly removes links because the current publishing integration does not support them there.

Media formats

Upload media once, then crop it per channel. For example, an Instagram feed post can use 4:5, while a Story or Reel can use 9:16. All paid plans also include video trim, cover and audio controls.

Before scheduling

Flockly warns about issues it can detect, such as a caption over a network limit or an unsuitable aspect ratio. Always review the version for each channel before scheduling.
